The inspiration behind the Kudoke 1 was to create a pure, understated time-only wristwatch that reflects the tradition of historical English pocket watches and classical watchmaking, with its bright frosted two-layer dial and hand-engraved infinity motif symbolizing eternity and balance; its in-house Kaliber 1 movement was directly inspired by 19th-century English pocket watch designs that founder Stefan Kudoke studied and incorporated into a modern wristwatch as a tribute to traditional craftsmanship.

The Legacy of Kudoke: A History of Precision, Style and Innovation

Kudoke watches were founded in Germany in 2018 by master engraver and watchmaker Stefan Kudoke after decades spent restoring historical timepieces and mastering traditional hand engraving, with the aim of bringing classical watchmaking values into a modern independent brand. Drawing heavily from 18th- and 19th-century English and German pocket watches, Kudoke reflects a slower era when movements were shaped, finished, and decorated entirely by hand.

Rather than chasing mass production or modern technical complexity, Kudoke focuses on hand-finished movements, frosted plates, engraved bridges, and symbolic design, producing only a small number of watches each year. Models like the Kudoke 1 and Kudoke 2 earned international recognition, including honors from the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, cementing the brand’s reputation for artistic restraint, craftsmanship, and devotion to the soul of traditional mechanical watchmaking.
