The Buren Chronomatic was inspired by the late-1960s race to create the world’s first automatic chronograph, a challenge that brought together Buren’s pioneering micro-rotor technology with Heuer, Breitling, and Dubois-Depraz under the secret “Project 99.” Buren supplied its ultra-thin micro-rotor base movement, allowing the addition of a chronograph module without making the watch bulky, which set the Chronomatic apart as both an engineering breakthrough and a stylish response to the growing demand for modern, automatic sports chronographs of that era.

Buren Dirty Dozen Watch Repair >
The Buren Dirty Dozen watch was inspired by the British Ministry of Defence’s 1940s requirement for rugged, highly legible wristwatches to equip soldiers during World War II, known as the W\.W.W. (Watch, Wristlet, Waterproof) specification. Buren answered with a no-nonsense military design featuring a black dial, bold luminous numerals, and a robust, water-resistant case, built to withstand battlefield conditions and ensure precise timekeeping under fire, embodying the era’s demand for dependable military instrumentation.

Buren Intra-Matic Watch Repair >
The Buren Intra-Matic was inspired by the 1960s demand for ultra-thin, elegant automatic dress watches that combined modern minimalism with advanced mechanics. Leveraging Buren’s innovative micro-rotor movement, which placed the winding rotor within the movement rather than on top, the Intra-Matic achieved a slim profile and clean, understated dial design, perfectly capturing the era’s desire for sophisticated timepieces that balanced technical ingenuity with timeless style.

Buren Rotowind Watch Repair >
The Buren Rotowind was inspired by the mid-20th-century quest to perfect automatic winding technology, aiming to give wearers a more convenient and reliable alternative to manual winding. Introduced in the 1940s, it used a bumper-style oscillating weight that “bounced” between springs to wind the mainspring, showcasing Buren’s drive to innovate practical, everyday mechanical solutions and paving the way for the brand’s later breakthroughs in micro-rotor automatic movements.

Heartfelt Testimonials on Watch Repair
Jane Murray ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I found Times Ticking on the internet. The last time I had a watch repaired locally it cost more than the watch did new. I got it back just like new 2 weeks later and 2,000 miles away. HIGHLY recommended. Times Ticking was prompt, inexpensive, and even phoned when they got my watch and told me in advance what it would cost to repair.
Keith Kerney ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Their service was grade A!!! They're quick and professional; they always kept me updated with status of my watches. Their work is flawless which they stand behind, to me most importantly. They speak to you as if you're an old friend asking for help; in which they're always happy to do. Times Ticking; a place where you can ask an old friend for help.
Matthew Emory ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I cannot speak to the local facilities or sales staff. I am an internet customer who took a chance and sent my prized Accutron watch across the country to folks I do not know and have never met. This was a big decision which took several weeks to discern. I am thrilled with my decision and am planning to send my Dad’s watch in for repair. The difference? This time there is no hesitation whatsoever.
Ellen Hymes ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was thrilled that they were able to repair and clean up a watch that I had inherited from my mother. It looks great and works great. The service was fast. The person who called me about the watch was very friendly and seemed grateful for my business. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will use them again if the need arises. So refreshing to receive such good customer service these days!
Peter K ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I highly recommend Times Ticking for watch repair. Jesse & crew know their stuff and even take the time to talk with you. They communicate very friendly/professionally and most of all the prices are more than fair for such craftsmen skills! My opinion: They are like the American Restoration of watches.

HISTORY OF BUREN
The Legacy of Buren: A History of Precision, Style and Innovation
Buren Watch Company, founded in 1898 in Buren an der Aare, Switzerland, grew from H. Williamson Ltd.’s acquisition of Fritz Suter & Cie and quickly earned a reputation for precision and innovation. Known for robust pocket watches and its pioneering micro-rotor movement, Buren supplied reliable timepieces during both World Wars, including the famed “Dirty Dozen” W\.W.W. models, while creating elegant dress designs like the Intra-Matic and Slendermatic.
In 1966, Hamilton Watch Company acquired Buren, using its micro-rotor expertise in the groundbreaking Chronomatic Calibre 11, one of the first automatic chronographs. Though production ended in 1972, Buren’s legacy of technical ingenuity and timeless style lives on, with its vintage watches prized by collectors worldwide.
