Today, we will be talking to you about a very exciting event: Seiko has just launched their brand new, Street Fighter Limited Edition watches!

If you are a fan of the popular street fighter game, this probably comes as amazing news for you. 

Street Fighter is part is the Capcom franchise and their first game was created in 1987. They then released 5 other main series games, together with some crossovers and spin-offs. 

In 1991, their Street Fighter II game innovated the one-on-one gaming fighting genre and the game has proven to be one of the highest grossing games of all times. Today, Street Fighter is just as popular and shows no signs of slowing down. 

So, why has there been a collaboration between Seiko and Street Fighter to create this iconic watch? Well, Capcom has recently released some fun and exciting Street Fighter merchandise and they thought that a watch they knew fans would love would be the natural next step. 

In terms of the watch itself, there will be 6 versions to choose from and these will feature your favorite Street Fighter characters, including Chun-Li, Ryu, Zangief, Ken, Blanka and Guile. 

This fantastic watch’s design was inspired by the stories, costume design and the individual and special moves of the Street Fighter characters. This can clearly be seen in the different versions: for instance, the Ryu-inspired watch has a plain white watch face and band, which is the same color as Ryu’s gi. The watch also has a black and red watch face edge and these reflect Ryu’s hair and headband colors.

Using the popular Seiko Sport 5 template, each version will be made according to the high quality and workmanship you have come to expect from Seiko. This means that not only will you be supporting your favorite Street Fighter character, but you will be able to enjoy a durable and exciting watch that you will be proud to wear, and one that can be worn even in the most extreme conditions. 

This already famous watch follows the visual style and design of the 5th numbered installment, hence the name of Seiko Sport 5. This model is Seiko’s oldest one and has proven to be a long-wearing and very ergonomic watch.

Seiko 5 sports watches are all mechanical and show the wearer the date, day and the time on a 3 o’ clock position in the watch face. They are water resistant and feel very comfortable when worn, making them the ideal watch for the Street Fighter fan who leads an active life.
