Airguide clocks originated with the Airguide Instrument Company, founded in Chicago during the 1930s by aviation pioneer Joseph W. Jones. Known first for aircraft gauges and weather instruments, the company later expanded into clocks, barometers, thermometers, and weather stations for homes and boats.
During the mid-20th century, Airguide became known for nautical-themed models such as the Ship’s Bell, Ship’s Wheel, Porthole, and Weather Center clocks. Their reliable performance, distinctive designs, and maritime styling made them popular for decades, and vintage Airguide clocks remain sought after by collectors today.
