CLOCK REPAIR FAQ

General Repair Questions

We specialize in the full spectrum of clock repair and maintenance, with a particular focus on restoring vintage and antique clocks. Our expertise goes beyond standard repairs—we excel in tackling clocks considered too challenging or rare for others to handle, including sourcing hard-to-find parts. From intricate antique heirlooms to vintage mechanical and quartz clocks, we ensure every issue your clock faces is met with precision and care.

Our services cover movement cleaning, oiling, and overhauls, as well as pendulum adjustments, gear replacements, and case restorations. We handle chime mechanism repairs, strike alignment, escapement adjustments, and weight-driven movement servicing. Additionally, we repair broken springs, replace bushings, calibrate timing, and address power loss issues to ensure your clock runs smoothly and accurately.

For antique and vintage clocks, we offer specialized restoration services, including repairing wooden cases, refinishing brass components, and restoring dials and hands. We also provide meticulous repairs for mantle, wall, and ship’s clocks, as well as fine-tuning mechanical movements and quartz conversions where appropriate. Every repair is approached with the utmost attention to detail, ensuring your clock is restored to its former glory while preserving its historical integrity.

Repair Timeline

When your clock arrives at our facility, we promptly notify you to confirm its safe receipt. It is then carefully processed, photographed, and categorized to ensure a precise and thorough evaluation. Typically, repair estimates are provided within a week of arrival. However, in cases requiring specialized parts, we may consult manufacturers or vendors to confirm availability and pricing, which could slightly extend the timeline. Rest assured, as soon as all necessary details are finalized, we will contact you with a comprehensive repair proposal for your approval. Please note, no repair work is initiated without your explicit consent.

The time required for clock repairs varies based on factors such as the type of clock and the complexity of the work needed. Minor adjustments or tune-ups are typically completed quickly, while restoring vintage or antique clocks, particularly those over a century old, may take several months. We provide a realistic timeframe with your repair estimate, though sourcing rare parts can affect the schedule. Throughout the process, we prioritize transparency and keep you informed every step of the way.

We do our best to accommodate your timing needs while setting realistic expectations and maintaining clear communication. As the saying goes in clock repair, “Good work takes time,” and we are committed to delivering exceptional quality, even if it requires a bit more patience.

Payments & Approval

For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards, including Visa, Discover, MasterCard, and American Express. International customers can securely make payments through our online portal.

If you decide not to proceed with the repair, your clock will be returned to you. A credit card is required to cover the shipping and handling costs, which will reflect only the actual shipping and insurance fees for a fair and transparent process. International customers can also make payments conveniently through our online portal.
