The IWC Aquatimer was inspired by the rise of recreational scuba diving in the 1960s, when underwater exploration captured the world’s imagination and reliable dive instruments became essential. Introduced in 1967, the original Aquatimer featured a 200-meter water resistance and a pioneering internal rotating bezel, protected under the crystal to avoid accidental movement—a design directly influenced by the needs of divers for safety and legibility underwater. As diving technology advanced, later Aquatimer models drew inspiration from professional deep-sea exploration, incorporating features like increased depth ratings, helium escape valves, and even a mechanical depth gauge. Throughout its evolution, the Aquatimer has embodied IWC’s blend of technical innovation and functional design, taking cues from both the adventurous spirit of recreational divers and the demanding requirements of professional underwater expeditions.

IWC Da Vinci Watch Repair >
The IWC Da Vinci came from Leonardo da Vinci himself, whose blend of science, art, and engineering embodied the spirit IWC wanted to capture. First launched in 1969, the Da Vinci made waves as one of the earliest wristwatches powered by the revolutionary Beta 21 quartz movement, reflecting da Vinci’s pursuit of technological innovation. But its true legacy came in 1985, when IWC introduced the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, designed by watchmaker Kurt Klaus. This masterpiece combined mechanical ingenuity with user-friendly functionality—its perpetual calendar could be adjusted entirely through the crown and accounted for leap years until 2499. The line has since evolved with bold designs, advanced complications, and artistic casework, staying true to da Vinci’s vision of merging creativity with precision.

IWC Ingenieur Watch Repair >
The IWC Ingenieur came from the post-war demand for robust, highly functional wristwatches suited to scientists, engineers, and professionals working around magnetic fields. Introduced in 1955, the Ingenieur was built to withstand the challenges of the atomic age, featuring a soft-iron inner case to protect its movement from magnetism. Its defining moment came in 1976, when Gérald Genta, the legendary designer behind the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus, reimagined the Ingenieur with the bold “SL” (Steel Line) design, giving it an integrated bracelet, porthole-inspired bezel with visible screws, and a sporty yet elegant character. This blend of engineering toughness and avant-garde design cemented the Ingenieur as a symbol of technical resilience and modern style, true to IWC’s identity as the “engineer’s watch.”

IWC Pilot’s Watch Repair >
The IWC Pilot’s Watch dates back to the 1930s and 1940s, when aviation was still in its heroic early age and pilots needed highly legible, extremely reliable timepieces as essential cockpit tools. IWC designed its first “Special Pilot’s Watch” in 1936, featuring large luminous numerals, anti-magnetic protection, and a rotating bezel for flight timing. The concept reached its peak with the 1940s Big Pilot’s Watch, which was directly inspired by military Beobachtungsuhren (B-Uhr) navigation watches, built oversized so they could be worn over flight suits and read at a glance in poor visibility. The functional, no-nonsense design language became the foundation of IWC’s entire aviation line, making the Pilot’s Watch one of the brand’s most enduring and recognizable collections.

IWC Portugieser Watch Repair >
The IWC Portugieser came in the late 1930s when two Portuguese businessmen, Rodrigues and Teixeira, approached IWC with an unusual request: they wanted a wristwatch with the precision of a marine chronometer. At the time, such accuracy was only possible with large pocket watch movements, so IWC housed one of their high-grade pocket watch calibers (Caliber 74) in an oversized wristwatch case. This bold design resulted in a watch far larger than typical dress watches of the era, with a clean dial layout inspired by nautical instruments. What started as a niche commission became one of IWC’s most iconic lines, blending maritime heritage, precision engineering, and elegant proportions.
We know that your IWC watch is important to you and understand that the sentimental value more often than not outweighs the monetary value. Our expert watchmakers strive to make sure your watch can be worn for many years to come.

What Our Customers Are Saying:
Heartfelt Testimonials on Watch Repair
I found Times Ticking on the internet. The last time I had a watch repaired locally it cost more than the watch did new. I got it back just like new 2 weeks later and 2,000 miles away. HIGHLY recommended. Times Ticking was prompt, inexpensive, and even phoned when they got my watch and told me in advance what it would cost to repair.
Their service was grade A!!! They're quick and professional; they always kept me updated with status of my watches. Their work is flawless which they stand behind, to me most importantly. They speak to you as if you're an old friend asking for help; in which they're always happy to do. Times Ticking; a place where you can ask an old friend for help.
I cannot speak to the local facilities or sales staff. I am an internet customer who took a chance and sent my prized Accutron watch across the country to folks I do not know and have never met. This was a big decision which took several weeks to discern. I am thrilled with my decision and am planning to send my Dad’s watch in for repair. The difference? This time there is no hesitation whatsoever.
I was thrilled that they were able to repair and clean up a watch that I had inherited from my mother. It looks great and works great. The service was fast. The person who called me about the watch was very friendly and seemed grateful for my business. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will use them again if the need arises. So refreshing to receive such good customer service these days!
I highly recommend Times Ticking for watch repair. Jesse & crew know their stuff and even take the time to talk with you. They communicate very friendly/professionally and most of all the prices are more than fair for such craftsmen skills! My opinion: They are like the American Restoration of watches.

HISTORY OF IWC
The Legacy of IWC: A History of Precision, Style and Innovation
IWC, or International Watch Company, was founded in 1868 by American watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, with the unique vision of blending advanced American manufacturing techniques with traditional Swiss craftsmanship. Backed by industrialist Johann Heinrich Moser, Jones set up the factory on the Rhine River to harness hydroelectric power, allowing IWC to produce high-quality movements on a larger scale. Over the decades, IWC became renowned for precision engineering and practical designs, creating icons like the Portugieser in the 1930s, the Mark pilot’s watches for military aviators during World War II, and the Ingenieur in the 1950s.
Despite challenges during the Quartz Crisis, IWC distinguished itself with innovative mechanical complications and engineering excellence, eventually becoming part of the Richemont Group in 2000. Today, it is celebrated worldwide as a premier Swiss watchmaker known for its technical mastery and timeless designs.
