The Legacy of NOMOS: A History of Precision, Style and Innovation

NOMOS Glashütte was founded in January 1990 by Roland Schwertner, just two months after the fall of the Berlin Wall, with the goal of reviving traditional German watchmaking in Glashütte, Saxony, a town historically known for its precision horology. Initially, NOMOS used Swiss-made ETA movements modified in-house, but by 2005 the company achieved full independence by developing its own in-house calibers, beginning with the Alpha manual movement.

Known for minimalist Bauhaus-inspired designs and high-precision mechanical craftsmanship, NOMOS quickly gained international acclaim, winning numerous awards and firmly establishing itself as one of the most respected modern watchmakers dedicated exclusively to mechanical timepieces.
