Expert Care for Every Watch Style & Collection

We specialize in repairing popular Oris collections. Learn more about the history of these collections:

The Oris Aquis Date was inspired by the brand’s commitment to creating a highly functional, modern dive watch that balances robust engineering with everyday versatility. Designed for both professional divers and style-conscious enthusiasts, the Aquis Date took cues from traditional dive watch elements—such as high water resistance, a unidirectional rotating bezel, and luminous markers—while introducing a contemporary design language with integrated lugs and a solid bracelet. It was built to reflect Oris’s independence and practical Swiss watchmaking ethos, aiming to offer exceptional performance under water and refined aesthetics above the surface.

We know that your Oris watch is important to you and understand that the sentimental value more often than not outweighs the monetary value. Our expert watchmakers strive to make sure your watch can be worn for many years to come.

The Oris Artelier series draws inspiration from the timeless elegance of classical Swiss mechanical watchmaking, blending refined aesthetics with technical sophistication. Rooted in Oris’s rich heritage, the collection embraces dress-watch traditions—featuring slim, polished cases, Art Deco–inspired guilloché dials, and thoughtfully engineered complications such as world‑timers, pointer dates, moon‑phase, and dual-time functions. It reflects the brand’s ongoing commitment to “the art of watchmaking,” marrying Oris-developed complications.

The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date was inspired by the practical needs of 1930s aviators: introduced in 1938, its signature oversized crown was designed so pilots could easily manipulate the watch while wearing gloves in unheated cockpits, complemented by a highly legible dial, bold Arabic numerals, coin-edge bezel, and the distinctive central pointer-date hand—all hallmarks of aviation utility integrated into a timeless design that still resonates today.

The Oris Divers Sixty‑Five draws its inspiration directly from Oris’s first purpose‑built dive watch, released in 1965 to meet the rising tide of recreational scuba divers seeking affordable, reliable underwater timepieces. The modern version—launched in 2015 to celebrate its 50th anniversary—faithfully reinterprets the original’s compact stainless‑steel case, bi‑directional rotating bezel, domed crystal, and bold luminous markers, but with contemporary upgrades like sapphire glass, unidirectional bezel, and improved water resistance, blending vintage style with modern functionality.

The Oris ProPilot X was inspired by a century of aviation heritage and a passion for architectural form. Drawing subtle cues from its Big Crown origins—like the turbine‑blade bezel and easy‑grip fluted crown—the modern X version leans into a sleek, industrial aesthetic with a lightweight titanium case and integrated bracelet. Powered by Oris’s five-day Calibre 400, it celebrates “the joy of mechanics” over overt pilot watch symbolism, blending minimalist design with technical depth.

HISTORY OF ORIS

The Legacy of Oris: A History of Precision, Style and Innovation

Oris was founded in 1904 in Hölstein, Switzerland, by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian, who set out to build a watch company rooted in reliability and accessibility. Named after a nearby brook, Oris quickly grew by producing durable, affordable watches for everyday wearers, expanding into alarm clocks and pilot’s watches by the 1930s. The launch of the Big Crown Pointer Date in 1938 established its place in aviation history, and by the mid-20th century, Oris had become one of Switzerland’s largest watch employers.

During the Quartz Crisis, Oris took a bold turn by abandoning quartz in favor of fully mechanical timepieces, a move that defined its modern identity. By the late 1980s, it was committed solely to mechanical watchmaking and built a loyal following with lines like the Aquis, Divers Sixty‑Five, and ProPilot X. Today, Oris stands out for its independent spirit, technical innovation, and commitment to value—earning respect among collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
