Robert Bryson & Son was founded in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1793 by renowned clockmaker Robert Bryson. The firm became known for its precision regulator, observatory, and longcase clocks, supplying observatories, universities, and discerning clients throughout the 19th century. Bryson also gained recognition for building one of the earliest known Congreve rolling-ball clocks.
After Robert Bryson’s death, the business continued as Robert Bryson & Son, later Robert Bryson & Sons, remaining a respected name in Scottish horology. Today, Robert Bryson clocks are prized by collectors for their exceptional craftsmanship, precision, rarity, and lasting contribution to British clockmaking.
