Grossmann Uhren traces its legacy to 1854 in Glashütte, when Karl Moritz Grossmann founded his workshop to advance precision horology, later helping establish the German School of Watchmaking in 1878; although the original company faded after his death in 1885, his influence helped shape Glashütte into a center of fine watchmaking.

In 2008, Christine Hutter revived the name as Moritz Grossmann Uhren GmbH, focusing on hand-finishing, in-house movements, and small-scale production rooted in 19th-century techniques; today, the brand is known for limited, meticulously crafted watches that carry forward Glashütte’s historic tradition.
