The Keystone Model 1 pocket watch grew out of the early American push to manufacture reliable watches domestically rather than depend on imported movements. Produced in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, it reflected Keystone’s goal of combining traditional watchmaking with the increasingly efficient factory-production methods that were transforming the American watch industry in the late 19th century.
