The Legacy of Revue Thommen: A History of Precision, Style and Innovation

Revue Thommen is a Swiss watch brand with roots dating back to 1853 when it was founded in Waldenburg, Switzerland, originally as the Société d’Horologerie à Waldenbourg. The company later became known as Revue Thommen following its merger with the Thommen family business in 1936. Renowned for producing both watches and aviation instruments, Revue Thommen supplied cockpit equipment for aircraft while simultaneously gaining respect for its mechanical wristwatches, many of which featured in-house movements under the “GT” (Gédéon Thommen) label.

Though the company’s watch production slowed during the quartz crisis, it experienced a revival in the 1990s and remains appreciated today for its heritage, functional designs, and ties to Swiss aviation history.
